Clarity for management.
An additional layer of intelligence.
The TS Report supplements your existing reporting with a defined independent review, without the commitment of adding a dedicated full-time analyst.
A clearer operating story.
Independent analysis can put difficult variances in context, recognize improvements supported by the reporting, and give owners and operators a shared basis for discussion.
Watch items worth following.
Highlight emerging labor, expense, revenue, and forecasting concerns in the reporting reviewed. Recurring reviews can follow the response and evidence of progress at an agreed cadence.
How does this help hotel management companies?
Management teams can use an independent review to extend analytical capacity, prepare clearer owner conversations, and identify issues that merit attention across a property or portfolio. The report distinguishes what the information supports from what needs more explanation, including evidence of sound performance and improvement. A TS Report costs $1,500 per hotel, per report; broader portfolio work or continuing support is scoped separately.
Can a management company commission a TS Report?
Yes. Owners and management companies can commission a review. We agree the purpose, scope, information access, report recipients, and working arrangements before the review begins. Who commissions the work does not change the independence of the findings; conclusions reflect the evidence available, including its limitations.
Is this continuous monitoring?
No. A report reviews the agreed reporting period and documents. Think of it as an additional signal for issues that deserve attention, rather than a real-time alert system. Any recurring review specifies the reporting cadence and follow-up scope in advance.
Know what comes next.
Define the scope.
We discuss the property, reporting period, and priorities. Scope, fees, and timing are agreed before the review begins.
Bring the reporting.
The starting point is your existing P&L, budget, forecast, and prior-year results. Relevant labor, market, and supporting detail may be requested.
Receive an owner view.
A concise report connects the financial results to operating issues, watch items, and questions for management. Any deeper advisory work is scoped separately.
Who is the TS Report designed for?
The TS Report is designed for hotel owners and investors, particularly owners of one to ten select-service or extended-stay hotels operated by third-party management companies. It gives ownership an independent interpretation of existing financial and operating reports.
How much does a TS Report cost?
A TS Report costs $1,500 per hotel, per report. The property, reporting period, document requirements, scope, and delivery timing are agreed before work begins. Deeper investigations and ongoing advisory support are scoped and priced separately.
Is this an accounting service or financial audit?
No. The TS Report interprets hotel performance from an operating perspective. It does not replace bookkeeping, tax advice, an independent financial audit, or an audit opinion. It identifies findings, limitations, and questions for ownership to discuss with management and the appropriate professional advisers.
Does this replace our management company?
No. The management company continues to operate the hotel. Thompson Square adds an independent interpretation of the reporting, helping owners and management teams discuss results, priorities, and follow-up with a clearer shared understanding.
Can we start with one property or one question?
Yes. A property review or a focused question can be the starting point. Any recurring review or broader advisory engagement is agreed separately.
How do we share financial information?
Start with a high-level inquiry. The document requirements and sharing arrangements are discussed as part of agreeing the scope. Please do not send guest or employee personal information through the inquiry form.
